Who am I?

It’s difficult to boil down someone’s life journey, experiences, failures, and achievements in a single book, let alone a blog, paragraph, and heading, but I’ll try. I was born and raised in India and moved to London in September 2022, to do my Master’s in Computational Cognitive Neuroscience at Goldsmiths University.

My Academic Journey (so far! )

I started studying Electronics and Communications Engineering at a private college and switched my major to a Master in Philosophy right after undergrad. I was fascinated with cognitive sciences along with philosophy, and the MA curriculum at Delhi University gave me an opportunity to study these subjects. So, I took the Delhi University entrance exam and was lucky enough to be admitted into the program.

Like many others, when the pandemic hit in March 2020, I found myself back at home with my parents. However, during this time, I received some good news — I was accepted into the PGD Cognitive Science and Human Factors program at Punjab University. After graduating from the program, I worked as a Tech writer at Analytics Drift for a year.

During this time, I developed a strong interest in the field of cognitive neuroscience, and I decided to pursue further studies in this area. I was thrilled when I got accepted into Goldsmiths to pursue an M.Sc. in Computational Cognitive Neuroscience, and I quickly moved to London to start my new journey.

Alongside my studies, I enjoy reading, hiking, traveling, and working out, and I recently started writing on Medium to share my experiences and knowledge with others.

Everything else is yet to come!

What I Like To Do Outside Of Studies and Work

I have always pursued several interests in parallel outside of studies and work and have added numerous new hobbies during the last couple of years of WFH and lockdowns. I’m a tech writer with 8+ years of experience, an avid reader, a hiker & traveler, and a lot more.

I love to explore different cities and neighborhoods, immersing myself in diverse cultures and savoring the local cuisine. That’s one of the reasons why I fell in love with London, despite its reputation for gloomy British weather. As you walk through the vibrant streets of this city, you’ll discover a world brimming with culinary delights and cultural experiences. Exploring culinary delights in Borough Market, Camden Market, and Brick Lane has been a remarkable journey so far!

I decided to start writing on Medium in October 2022 (numerous times in the past couple of years) as a distraction from this virus that has caused the world to shut down and get a new hobby. I love sharing my experiences and knowledge about computational neuroscience and other topics with like-minded people.

As I review this file in May 2023, I can’t help but reflect on my unrealized dream of posting regularly on Medium or my blog. While it remains an aspiration, I acknowledge that I haven’t been able to make significant progress toward achieving it. However, I am determined to make this dream a reality and commit to taking actionable steps to bring my writing to the forefront.
